LifeManagement Center (LMC) announces its 4th annual Charleston Road Rally on Saturday, March 12th, 2011. The Rally begins at the Citadel Holliday Alumni Center in downtown Charleston. Registration begins at 3:30PM for the Road Rally and Finish Line Party. Attendees have the option of participating in both events or just one. The Road Rally starts at 4:00PM and ends at the Alumni Center at 6:00PM in time for the Finish Line Party for an open bar, meal, prizes, and silent and live auctions, featuringoutstanding items from local businesses and friends.Ticket cost is $75 a person and includes participation in the full event. Online registration is available.
The Charleston Road Rally is a novelty, "gimmick" rally that is similar to a scavenger hunt. Rally teams follow clues to checkpoints in a driving adventure through greater Charleston. At each checkpoint, the team gets a number added to their score card. The team with highest score at the end of the Rally receives a prize at the Finish Line Party. Prizes are also awarded for best team theme, oldest vehicle, wackiest vehicle and prettiest vehicle. The Road Rally is not a timed race- all you have to do is find the stops and enjoy the adventure with your teammates.
Proceeds from the Charleston Road Rally benefit LifeManagement Center, a non-profit educational service organization founded in Charleston in 1995. LMC currently has Learning Centers in West Ashley and Summerville and at Tutoring Center in Mt. Pleasant. Our mission is to transform educational and professional challenges into life achievements for children, families adults and communities. The Charleston Road Rally helps us cover operating costs, provide scholarships to families in financial hardship, and provide outreach programs, such as literacy programs in public schools. We hope you will join us on March 12th for an adventure that benefits a great cause!
