In an effort to support the ongoing fight against hunger in Madison County, Boutier Winery & Vineyards is proud to present the first annual “Festival in the Vines”. The event will take place on Saturday, July 15th, and all proceeds will go to benefit the Madison County Food Bank.
A full day of activities and attractions is planned, and WLHR 92.1 will broadcast live from the venue. The event will kick off at 7:00 AM with a 5k run for all ages and levels. An antique and classic car show will be held from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Throughout the day there will be food and craft booths, a bounce castle, train rides, a dunking booth, and a silent auction.
The celebration will continue into the evening with live music and a live auction starting at 8:00 PM. A cover charge will be collected at the door. All proceeds from this fee will be donated to the Madison County Food Bank.
The hosts for the event are Victor and Mary Boutier, owners of Boutier Winery & Vineyards. Admission is free, but guests are asked to bring canned food or a tax deductible donation (cash, check, or credit cards accepted).
“We’ve done canned food drives in the past, but this year we decided to expand the effort to add more festivity and bring in more food,” said Mary. “We also wanted to promote community awareness and involvement. Most people really do want to help. They just need a reminder every now and then.”
According to Bobbie Rooker, Director of the Madison County Food Bank, the organization assists 200+ individuals each month.
“This year the goal is to raise enough to add assistance to critically ill Madison County senior citizens,” Rooker said. “So many must decide between their medication of their food, but we can help with the latter.”
For more information about the event or to register for the 5k run ($25 fee), please contact Victor or Mary Boutier at email@example.com or 706-789-0059.
