Just an FYI about the casting call this week.

I took my 72 BMW 3.0CS down there Monday night.

Almost got hit by a women on 285 changing lanes on the way there.

It was raining as well.

Arrived at requested time of 4:30.

They own a number of period correct cars for this show that they use. That's why we are extras.

Lots of paper work like a W-2 and a 1099 and a release.

Waited, waited, waited and at 9:30 we were released. Car was never used.

Pay was $130 for 8 hours and it was this much because I might have to walk through the background where the cars are parked.

So for driving 40+ miles in the rain and almost getting hit I will get a prorated amount of maybe $80 and that's before taxes.

So if you have a lot of time to kill and enjoy sitting around or watching them shoot then have a great time.

Just saying...................

This is a pretty good review at the "Extras Casting Call" level; very typical, except the rain.  It gets much better for specialized vehicles.  Although, no matter what they pay, it is usually a significant amount of time waiting around and watching people do things that don't seem to make any sense.  Somehow, it is fun though, if you can afford the time.

The best one was when they rented one of my red cars and it turned out they really needed a white one. It makes you wonder who talks to who, and who might really be listening?  :-)

$130.00 is the guaranteed rate. You get full rate even if they send you home after 4 hours. Time and a half over 8 hours.
