Atlanta Motor Speedway starts the 4 of July weekend with a Red, White and Bang! What’s more All American than car shows, drag races and fireworks! Because of the treat of rain, it was nice to see the Show and Shine car show being held inside.

There was good variety of cars, street rods and classics. I met some old South East Wheels Events friends and made some new ones and something I really like, the younger folks were there with custom painted drift cars and modified classics with the rims that make a statement.

The drag race started “street style” head up and then the rain came. I only saw a few and came to the conclusion that we will have to do this another Friday night and report back. AMS did not let a little sprinkle stop the Fireworks and you could here the oohs and awes of the fans and the laughter of the kids. For more information click here

\If you are new in the car show sport or looking for a different venue, try Atlanta Motor Speedway on a Friday night. If you bring a car for the show, go around back to the tunnel to register. As always please call them and check out any information

Saturday I got to meet some Hero’s. Hero’s are people who help other people. The car show world has many, those are my heroes. The fund raiser was for a lady named Michelle Haulbrook Sanders, who needed a dual transplant. I got to meet Michelle, sweet lady, she has good friends.

It was a good car show at Chick fil a. It amazes me every time I go to a car show, I have been to 48 events this year and it still amazes me how many people tell me they are a member of South East Wheels Events and I took their picture at another car show, miles away.

Speaking of which, you know how I like StreetSide Classic, they have got the best reputation for classic car sales and consignment out there. I was taking pictures at the Michelle Haulbrook Sanders fund raiser and I took a picture of this 65 Red Mustang.

I told the owner how wonderful it looked and mentioned a 66 Mustang I saw at StreetSide Classic. He told me, years ago, he bought his 65 at StreetSide Classics, the good deal he got and the great customer service, Now that he had the 65 modified, all the way to the chrome top end,he was thinking about taking it back to StreetSide Classics putting it on consignment and maybe finding him another car. That my friends is customer loyalty and StreetSide Classics is the reason For More Information Click Here

Our feature car of the week comes from Goodmark Chevrolet, actually 44 of them, every truck that you could ever want, all new, all priced to sell. The special is on the Silverado LT pickups there is a 17% discount off MSRP for all South East Wheels Events members. Call my buddy Mike at Goodmark, tell him you heard about him on Lee’s Corner and that I said, he had the Deal of the Day! For More Information Click Here

Folks you know I have a lot of fun writing this column, Drag races and Fireworks on a Friday night and eating Chik Fil A at a car show on Saturday. I’m in my second childhood, with no kids.

Someone asked me how I felt about the responses that you email in or when you stop and talk to Mike Thies, my boss, at a car show, I told them “humbled” From the bottom of my heart, I thank you and appreciate you. It is an honor and a privilege, to be allowed into your lives.

.Until next time, may the sunshine and the trophies be many-lee

Happy Fourth Of July Weekend and we have the Events this weekend for you.

But first a word from our sponsor! Have you ever thought about how many different kinds of organizations hand out trophies? Car shows, races, sporting events of all kinds, but there is the cost of between the certificate or medallion that hangs around the neck to the sterling silver cup trophies. That is a lot of different trophies, so who are you going to call? Pinehill Discount Trophies,, they have the variety you need and the price you are looking for You can either order on-line or call Mike Kelly and tell him that you heard from South East Wheels Events that he would make you a good deal. For More Information Click Here

On June 30, the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton Georgia is having fireworks after the O’Reilly’s Show and Shine Car Show and Drag Race. I cannot tell you the times, I have sat with my friends at a car show wondering what the future will hold for our sport. With most kids plugged in and everything being built with DVD players, it makes it tough to find the art in”Blue Tooth Enabled” So, on July 1st and 2nd one of my favorite car shows is being held in Byron Georgia, right outside of Warner Robins. Last spring, I went to a car show being by the Freaks of Nature. The name itself, caught my attention and their vehicles make a statement. The modified pickup trucks with custom paint, suspension and Nitros are the perfect combination of power, grace and art. I was also impressed by the number of females in the club. Not just driving the husband or boyfriend’s car but I am talking it is her vehicle that she works on and is driving membership. It felt good to see another vision of our sport.

Also, while at the car show, I met a young man driving a white Mustang. He told me that while he was driving down Interstate 75, that he was looking at the South East Wheels Events website on his phone and decided to stop and enter. It made my day, it was worth the drive and glad I came.

The Summer Showdown is a two day event July 1st Saturday and July 2nd Sunday and here is an added bonus FREE VENDOR SPOTS. I understand this is the Freaks of Nature 13th Annual Car Show and it will be their last so, let’s help them go out with a “BANG” I hope to see you there For More Information Click Here

We have events all weekend as well as Bike Night during the week, check out the web-site, use the search engine for place, type or date For More Information Click Here

As always, it is an honor and a privilege for you to invite me into your lives. I hope I have entertained, and maybe shared some useful information in the process. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. May the sunshine and the trophies be many, until next time-lee

It has been a busy week, new members and new South East Wheels Events. The first we received last week was from The Peach State Challengers, Jefferson Ga, then a car show at the Tyger Baptist Church at Tyger SC. Another SC, this time from Myrtle Beach The Red White and Bang Car Show. We also had a Bike Night listed; it’s every Wednesday Night at the TGI Friday’s in Dekalb GA,

I also heard there will be a event to be held at Hot Rod’s Diner in Rutledge and some upcoming Bike Nights and other happening from our new members Hellbender Harley Davidson in Marietta GA and Southern Devil Harley Davidson in Cartersville GA so stay tuned,

A GREAT EVENT on July 22, the Rockabilly Reckoning 2017 at the B3 Bar and Grill in Austell GA. There will only be fan favorite judging “We pick what we like”. There will be vendors, live bands, the Bud Light Truck and me with the camera I look for this party to go down as one of the South East Wheels Great Events. Of course all car bike shows and races need trophies, if you want a good deal, check out Mike over a Pine Hill Discount Trophies, tell him Lee sent you. You can get whatever you need from acrylic to wood plaques for the best price in town.

My buddy Denise from StreetSide Classics posted in Vehicles for Sale a 1956 Chevy 3100 Remember the wood truck beds? . It is art on the wheels I do recommend StreetSide Classics, if you are selling, drop your car off, StreetSide is running a special for South East Wheels Events members, NO CONSIGNMENT FEE! And if you are buying, I am guaranteeing you, you will get the best deal out there. This is no hype no marketing, this is experience from people I know who have bought their true love from StreetSide Classics. http://southeastwheelsevents.ning.com/page/vehicle-sales-listing

e If you are in McDonough GA on June 17 there is an Poker Run called Devin's Ride. It’s Devin’s 16th Birthday. Devin’s a special; kid, he has had 32 surgeries since the 3rd grade, Money they raise goes to help Devin and his mom. Great kid, with a smile on his face, a sense of humor and the love to ride.

One of the things I love about car and bike folks, don’t care if they are show, race or rider, they always are there to help and I don’t mind helping folks who help folks. World needs more of that right know, when I was younger we called that “Random Acts of Kindness”. Pass it On.

As always it is It is an honor and a pleasure, being able to write this column. I will always try to give you the news covering the events in our area, anything on wheels, who’s who and current events. Thank You. May the sunshine and the trophies be many, until next time-Lee

The Po Boy Cruise In at Canton GA was a nice surprise. The show had a variety of cars The sun was shining and there was a good turnout of spectators and car club members not only the Po Boys, I also met members of the Creepers, Dixie Olds and of course the GSRA. It is great to see other clubs supporting events. Of course the $5.00 entry fee doesn’t hurt The Po Boy’s Cruise In is every 3rd Saturday, it’s worth the drive to help the cause and meet some new friends. For More Information Click Here

Our feature, car of the week, comes from one of our members Steven Beauregard He writes: For sale is my 34 Coupe. I have owned it for 15 years. It is a driver, not a show car, although I have won many trophies at local shows. Has 24,000 miles on it. Fiberglass body and custom frame.  Chevrolet 350 with a polished 6:71 blower Cragars SS wheels all around. This car is beautiful and fun to drive. It is always free to list Vehicles For Sale on the South East Wheels website, no dues, no commissions

WE have 30 Days before the B3 Rockabilly Car Show. Truthfully, it’s a more than a car show, live bands and a Budweiser Truck parked in the driveway is a clue that we are going to have a good time! I have been to family friendly car shows but, for the B3 Rockabilly, go ahead, get that babysitter,, its date night. Its a little country, a little Southern and I promise we will be dancing and having a great time. I hope to see you there

Mike started South East Wheels Events, one handshake at a time, one member at a time, one event at a time, and it seems every day we add members and we add events, it is awesome and humbling at the same time. If you know an event that is not posted, please post it or let me know. You will be doing a favor for the guy 20 miles away, who is looking for a car or bike show to participate in but has not gotten the flyer or word of mouth. We are a members website, no dues, we are here for one reason, to serve. I appreciate each and every one of you,Thank you for letting me be a part of this sport.

A car show to remember! I got to give a shout out to Denise Cronin and The Creepers Car Club our hosts for the StreetSide Classics Kick Off to Summer Car Show. It was an excellent event, 200 plus cars, some of the premier cars in the Atlanta metro circuit attended everybody who was anybody or they were missed.  We had food, drink, ice cream and a couple of special guests.

The Gift of Love, who sponsor school children in need. Ever seen a kid hungry and cold? Truth is they will never complain, but the school counselors know. To them 20 schools 556 children is just an average day, during the holidays, they help 1000 children with food, back packs, hygiene bags, clothes socks, underwear. During November they collect coats. I took a tour of the StreetSide Classics, all the muscle cars I ever wanted to see, Super Bees, Roadrunners, Camaro’s, Corvettes and yes one 1966 Mustang, the Bullet Car. It was white with blue racing stripes, but still it is there in all its glory. StreetSide Classics has a variety of classic automobiles antiques, VW campers, Jeeps and trucks all beautiful in every way. You can check some of my favorites on the South East Wheel Events website, .For Pictures of the Event Click Here

As many of you know, we have the Peachtree Corners Festival and car Show happening this weekend June 10 and 11. This is no ordinary car show with live music,, vendors, more food than you can eat, bouncy houses and even clowns. This car show has always enjoyed a wide variety of cars and motorcycles. As a United States Marine Corp veteran, Memorial day has a special meaning, a day of remembrance, I remember Claudis Murphy and John Firestone both Georgia Boys, I have been to the Wall, saw the names, shed a tear, said a prayer. I remember my brother Billy after 2 tours during the Tet Offensive, came home and took his own life, no more ghosts, no more nightmares, rest in peace. I remember the families, the gut wrenching heart ache, the sorrow, yet a since of pride. You see, that was our husbands, fathers, brothers and sons and we knew that they had sacrificed their life, doing the right thing. We may not agree with your opinion, but there was those, who gave their life, so you could have it, freedom was never free. I salute, am so proud, to hold the honor of standing by the side of these men and women, those before me and those after me, who starched, their uniforms, shined their brass and took an oath to depend this country against all threats foreign and domestic, Semper Fi, God Bless You.
It is going to be a wonderful and action packed summer folks so, buckle up and enjoy the ride. Jim Pantas returns with NASA SE. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to drive your car around the Road Atlanta Track? Certain rules and regulations apply of course but talk to Jim and you may have the chance to find out. Road Atlanta will also be hosting the Petite Le Mans this year, it is going to probably some of the fastest laps on record. John Shelby said “Not enough horsepower, not enough traction” These Petite Le Mans cars are the exception to the rule. My guess, Lap Time low 1 minute 30, if not less. You can find NASA SE and Jim’s information and all Road Atlanta events Click Here
June 3, as I mentioned StreetSide Classics, Summer Kick Off, in Lithia Springs one of the car show crown jewels for those who love a good car show, be there or we will miss you. If you love cars,     StreetSide Classics, is a dream come true, every muscle car, luxury car, restored, vintage, mint       condition, there will be something for everyone. For More Information Click Here
Then on June 10, we will be at Peachtree Corners, a great car show, festival and shade. One of the coolest shows and festivals of the year, food, games, vendors, food, bouncy houses, music, food and so much more. The Honorable Mike Thies , the godfather of car shows, will be the presiding judge. The cars attending will be high quality, last year we had a dragster and a fire truck. There will be a ton of spectators so if you walk away with one of these trophies, you earned it. For More Information Click Here
As I said we got a slam packed summer coming up so , stayed tuned to Lee’s Corner, for the what’s happening and the who’s who of the automotive, truck and motorcycle events. Until next time, may the sunshine and the trophies be many.

I and the crew had the pleasure, the honor of participating in the Armed Forces Day Car Show at Lilburn Park. I met some wonderful people there, especially a bunch called V-Dog.  The kind folks take donated dogs, spend $2000.00 training them and give them to disabled veterans with PTSD. The soldiers who risked their lives, prisoners for months in their own homes, unable to have any other relationships, find a ray of hope with a 4 legged assist dog.  If you would like to check out the services V Dog provides or maybe send them a couple bucks to help out.

As always, you can check out pictures of the show at http://southeastwheelsevents.ning.com/photo/album/list

Sorry about the missing Goodmark Chevrolet photos we had a technical difficulty and they were deleted. We will try again! Thanks Rodney and to all members, if I get something wrong, let me know. I don't want to spread "fake news" but sometimes when I hear something at a car show it gets "STREACHED" a little.  Thanks for keeps a eye on me. As I said I am old and slow, but I try harder.

I'm 71 years old and I never won anything in my life! said the man who won the Goodmark Chevrolet 350 engine still in the crate as a door prize. The sun was shining, the music was playing thanks to Big Boy and our friends at Garage 71.  If you need some music they are the ones "geared" to all Motorheads alike.  You can see more pictures of the Goodmark Chevrolet car Show including the Winner of Best Show the 1926 Model T Hot Rod under albums Click on the Goodmark Chevrolet Logo.

I heard something else I have to share, folks we have a member named David Murry on April 18 and 19th will be running an open track for experienced drivers at Road Atlanta 14 hours of scheduled track time, NO RUN GROUPS or SESSIONS.  As usual folks remember, I'm old and slow but you can get the correct and updated information at http://www.davidmurry.com

I got one more thing, my favorite subject kids. April 8 Sims Academy chapter of the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow called the Motor Masters are having a benefit car show at Holly Hill Mall.  Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is a young person club. they have a completion where they tear down a 350 engine.  I think the record is held by a chapter in Georgia 17 minutes.  The students at Sims want to get a car fix it up and donate it to the battered women's shelter. They got all kinds of trophy's, food and it sounds like a great car show that will help everyone concerned.  Even my buddies at the Dixie Cruisers are pitching in.  I told you they were great folks.  Have you heard about the Dixie cruisers new website, it is slick great job  http://www.dixiecruisers.org Here is some trivia Dixie Cruisers I think are the oldest car club in Georgia.  Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

We appreciate the support of our free website by our members, if you would like to have your event or car show featured on our website, we have a special members rate.  Hit me up and I will email you the media kit.

We appreciate you the members with you there is no us.  Until Next time May the sun shine and the trophies be many-lee

From Lee's Corner Mar 22, 2017 Spring has sprung!!, winter is officially over and the Dixie Cruisers are back in action!!!I The monthly cruise in will be held March 28, 2017, in Winder at the Winder Corners shopping center, 17 Monroe Hwy. There also is a great Mexican restaurant there called Los Vaqueros Mexican Restaurant. . But first a word from our sponsor...Folks you have probably heard  Motorama is coming back to the Atlanta Motor Speedway and our good friend BidderOne is holding a COLLECTOR Car Auction at the Atlanta Motor Speedway April 22, 2017.  Do you have that project car, the wife keeps talking about?  Is you dream car finished and you are looking for another?  Are you looking for that jewel to top off your collection, that Corvette or multi awarded BelAire.  . If you want to bid, it is just a $25.00 fee but they also give you 2 Motorama event passes.  If you want to put your vehicle up for the big show, IF you register before March 31, 2017, they give you a half price discount $100.00, after March 31, 2017 it is a $200.00 fee but the will give you a FREE bidder number and 2 Motorama events passes.  Folks I have been to a BidderOne auction, they don't leave any money on the table, Buying, selling either or, I invite you to come on down. I am sure I missed something or got some detail backwards, so as always don't take my word for it, call my good friend Richard Stafford 470-313-5254, tell him Lee said call and don't forget the beer.

The Dixie Cruiser's have always been one of my favorite car clubs, they are straight up good folks.  They have always actively supported community projects such as the Sims Academy chapter of the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow  the Motor Masters, who by the way are having their own car show to raise needed funds, on April 8 at Holly Hill Mall . It is a great cause, supports a bunch of high school kids and tell me, Do you know anyone else who can tear down and put together a 350 engine in 17 minutes.  Ok I am impressed.  It's is going to be a great and amazing summer. May the sunshine and the trophies be many until next time-lee

From Lee's Corner Mar 20, 2017  Happy 70th Birthday Mike!!! Our founder, our friend and a great guy, Mike Thies. People may not know but, what we do at South East Wheels Events, to Mike is not a job, he is not in it to get rich. It is nice when the website pays for itself and he doesn’t have to rob the piggy bank to keep the doors open but, Mike has this free website calendar of automotive related events, because of his love for the car show.

Before I continue a word from our sponsor. Good friends of Mike, who have supported South East Wheels Events for many years. You know I must be talking about the folks at StreetSide Classics,  http://www.streetsideclassics.com the Nation’s Top Consignment Dealer of classic and collectable cars. Sell that project car and get $$$ the same day! Call Richard 678-279-1609 Tell them Lee sent you and promised you the best deal in the house!!! and always folks consignment is free, call for details...

One thing that I want to share with you, is how many people Mike Thies has helped. We at South East Wheels Events, list an astronomical amount of car shows for free. Many of those car shows are from churches, car clubs and other organizations who are raising money for their cause. By providing a free listing to car show enthusiasts in the South East, it gets the word out to the people that matter. That person is you, the car owner.

Does it work? I was at a car show in Warner Robins, sponsored by the Freaks of Nature; a young man drove up in a white Mustang. As I was taking pictures I asked him if he was familiar with South East Wheels Events. He told me that as he was driving down the interstate, he checked the South East Wheels Events website and saw that the car show was right down the street, so he stopped, registered and hung out. We all made new friends that day. That my readers, is a true story.

Thank you Mike for everything you do, not just for the car owners who South East Wheels Events makes it easier to locate the best car shows, but also to all the children you have fed, the puppies you have saved and all the other charities that benefit from the car shows you support free of charge.

To my friend to my mentor, Happy Birthday and may the Lord Bless you with many more. Until next time may the sun shine and the trophies be many-lee

I found a nugget of gold up in the hills of Carolina!!!  Tom Mack Classics https://tommackclassics.com/ ; 704-400-1127  April 6 2017, at "High Noon" is holding their annual Spring Thursday Auction and it promises to be very special. It will be held inside the Cabarrus Area and Event center in Concord NC.  That is 12 miles North of the Speedway.  For more information check out the website or give them a call.  I did hear the  consignment fee is only $199.00 and the 1 day sale will be limited to 150 cars.  As I said for more information check out the website or give them a call

,My buddy Bruce told me about this auction so I checked it out...it looks like Mr. Mack has got quite a collection not only for the auction but in his inventory. The 57 BelAire station wagon, the 59 Cadillac Coupe De Ville catch your eye, then for the person who likes a little pep to their step the 1967 Corvette Convertible and the 1968 Camaro RS/SS and then you notice the 1963  Corvair Spyder convertible with no reserve...but it's Mr. Mack's inventory that surprises you...

Mr. Mack's antique inventory is very impressive and if you are looking for Ford Model A 1929-1931, talk to Mr. Mack.  Also if you are looking for a project car, like my buddy Shane Gillespie of Gillespie's Hot Rods, talk to Mr. Mack about that 1940 Ford Deluxe, that he has parked, waiting on someone to give it a good home and some TLC.

Don't take my word for it folks, as you know I try to be straight up and post what I see and hear, so you can make your own opinion.  Check out the website, give them a call, Mr. Mack might have just what you were looking for. Do me a favor folks, when you call or talk to the folks at Mr. Mack's tell him the next time I am up there, he can take me out for some of those sweet Carolina Baby Backs and maybe a shot of that Carolina Shine. May the sun shine and the trophies be many until next time-lee

Classic Car Auction...I have a good buddy Richard Stafford 470-313-5254 He is with Bidder One http://bidderoneclassics.com...and They will be holding the Classic car Auction at the Emerald City Cruise In on March 11, 2017.  the auction opens 10:30 am.  I go to car shows all the time and it blows my mind when I see some drop dead gorgeous machine sitting there with a piece of cardboard  with a hand scrawled  FOR SALE sign sitting in the window.  I got to ask myself why?  I know this member he was selling a Champaign VW, extremely rare at a car show, I told him about the auction, he took, set a reserve and got twice what he wanted, not a bad days work.I wanted to sell my house, I called someone, why should I take a chance on something like Craigslist? Same thing when I bought my new house, I called someone, my classic is a major investment.  I also like to have the different selections at the same time and also when a car has no reserve, you just might get lucky. These cars at BidderOne are all the real deal, they have major selections and will take care of you and your car.  These guys are the professionals, they have the office in Macon, right down the road and open to the public auctions every Tuesday Check out their website for more information.  I also heard that they will be in Atlanta in April so watch your Lee's Corner for more information.  Tell Richard that that you read Lee's Corner and I said he owes me a beer. I and my camera will be at the Emerald City auction so stop me and say Hi. It is always nice to meet people.  I would not be here, this company would not be here, the website would not be here, with out you our members so, if we can be of service please drop by The Corner and let me know....May the sun shine and the trophies be many, until next time-lee

Cash prizes, that includes VW and trucks!!! and one of my favorites the original Munster Car will be in attendance... live music, with Georgia Clay, Styx Forever and Chain Reaction, they are a very good Journey tribute band..... Starting out with Harley Davidson of PCB There is swap meet and classic car auction and they have plenty of free parking and did I mention they will have a good brew for a hot time!!!   Our fiends at Flip Flop Promotions and Bidder One invite you to attend , For more information hit the website and if you see my buddy Rakes Parrish, tell him Lee said he owes him a beer.  Sounds like more than a Cruse In or Auction, it sounds more like a party and worth the drive.  Hope to see you there, as many of you know I am the man with the camera, make sure you let me know who you are. Remember I would not be her, this company would not be here, we are here for one reason, to serve you. Until next time may the sunshine and the trophies be many-lee

SHO SUM LOVE Warner Robins Hosted by Freaks of Nature Car Club.

When I was a kid, one of the things we did in my neighborhood was hang at the corner. The Corner was always a hub or activity, keeping up with the who's who, what's going on with various neighborhood news and opinion.  Welcome to Lee's Corner where I will do my best to keep you, the members, informed and up to date on various events and happenings in the car show neighborhood .I got to give a shout out to this week's sponsor, my buddy Doc Sab and Cadillac World, Home of Mac Daddy Wire Wheels that are Hand Made using American Steel, TBird Chrysler and Packard models available...

It was worth the drive!!! I got to give a shout out to Jason and the rest of The Freaks of Nature for a wonderful event. many times I have sat with older gentlemen at a car show and the conversation is "What's going to happen to the sport when we are gone?"  Well folks let me tell you, the sport is in good hands. It has changed a bit, there are still the antiques and classics but let's welcome a newcomer, the rat rod. many time complete with nitrous, these low riding pick up trucks are a wonderful marriage of art and power.  I got to give a shout out to Jason and the rest of the Freaks of Nature "Good Job!!!' They are a good representation of our sport not only younger, under 40.  Now I feel old! BUT it is a mixed group with the females being represented in all the top categories. I don't know about you but that makes me happy. They came through when the owner of the space shut down the music, they came through when it started to rain and 20 minutes later, the wonderful sun shine. Now I understand that the freaks of nature are putting together  "SUMMER SHOWDOWN" July 1-2 in Byron GA.  For more info check the SouthEast Wheels events date Jul1 & 2. Go ahead and put it on your phone calendar, I already did.  As I said it's worth the drive... Until next time may the sun shine and the trophies be many....Lee

Great Excellent Video If you have not seen the video from Hot Rod Madness of the Ga Cool Cruisers at Dave and Busters, give yourself a few minutes and enjoy the show.  Part One   http://southeastwheelsevents.ning.com/video/georgia-cool-cruisers-d... and Part Two   http://southeastwheelsevents.ning.com/video/cool-cruisers-dave-bust... Great spot on coverage of not only a wonderful car show and sponsors Year One and SouthEast Wheels Events, but great shot of our wonderful participants Ga Cool Cruisers and the Ga Street Rod Association members.  I would like to send a shout out and a good job to the film's creator Mr. William Burns
