Kids Kids Kids. wait, kids ate young people but all young people are not kids. How about this "For the students, By the students." That was the motto of the Gwinnett Tech 3rd Annual Gearheadz Car Show, Johnny and Andy good show that had a good mix and some great owner made custom rides., burgers, DJ and here's one the students were judges. Now these students are not your average bookworm, these students are knuckle busting Gearheadz, that's right students who are going to college to learn to be a better mechanic and in today's world when the word computer is used in the same sentence as automobile. I'm glad someone will be around to fix my wife's car. Where does this wire go? Check out the picture of the Gearheadz Car Show at Gwinnett Tech on our website, under albums, just click on the Gwinnett Tech logo. http://southeastwheelsevents.ning.com/photo/album/list
Speaking of students, last week I had the pleasure of visting the Hot Rodder's of Tomorrow chapter of the Motor Masters and they put on quite a show for me, 4 students, by hand, broke down and rebuilt a old beat up 350 engine in 32 minutes. What is equally impressive is in this completion you can only use certain tools, so someof the tools like the tool rack and the pan that hold they tools the use, they built. You got to give the teacher Michelle beck some real credit, these kids got heart and are good at what they do. Not only does Ms. Beck build teamwork, but integrity of other characteristics that are valuable in today's society. If anyone has a 350 roller engine they can donate to the school, or they may be interested in sponsoring these young folk, let me know. The MotorMasters will be putting on a show of the skils at the Summit Racing MotoRama, Saturday at 12:00 and 3:00 pm. Check out their photo's under the Motor Masters Logos I was impressed http://southeastwheelsevents.ning.com/photo/album/list
Speaking of the MotoRama, are you one of those guys who have 5 cars in the garage, 2 project cars and the wife yelling she can't find a place to park? OR you got that car fixed, but your bored and are looking for aother, but you need to find a loving home for the one you got? Have you been trying to sell your custom ride on Craigslist, only to find there are crazy people out there? YOU need to come to the MotoRama and talk to my buddy Richard Stafford from BidderOne, they will be holding a auction at the MotoRama, Saturday the 22nd at 10;30 am. Lt me tell you something about Bo Benton, he calls a great auction and doesn't leave any money on the table, so if your selling, if your buying or if you just want to check what is on the block and maybe...I invite you come to the BidderOne Auction sat April 22 at 10:30 am
Anytime I see young people in the automotive working on becoming a mechanic, engineer or any other got grease under my fingernails...it reminds me of the days gone by working with my dad, late at night in the shop. Today, it doesn't take 30 years to be come "qualified" thankfully because the cars have changed. If you see a young person, busting their chops, trying to go somewhere and be somebody, give them a hand up, help them out or even encourage them, tell them that story when you....maybe one day that will be the young person under your wife's cars. I'll see you at the MotoRama folks, I'm the guy with the camera, until then may the sun shine and the trophies be many-lee
Sorry about the missing Goodmark Chevrolet photos we had a technical difficulty and they were deleted. We will try again! Thanks Rodney and to all members, if I get something wrong, let me know. I don't want to spread "fake news" but sometimes when I hear something at a car show it gets "STREACHED" a little. Thanks for keeps a eye on me. As I said I am old and slow, but I try harder.
I have looked for the Goodmark Chevrolt logo under albums & did not find the logo
I'm 71 years old and I never won anything in my life! said the man who won the Goodmark Chevrolet 350 engine still in the crate as a door prize. The sun was shining, the music was playing thanks to Big Boy and our friends at Garage 71. If you need some music they are the ones "geared" to all Motorheads alike. You can see more pictures of the Goodmark Chevrolet car Show including the Winner of Best Show the 1926 Model T Hot Rod under albums Click on the Goodmark Chevrolet Logo.
I heard something else I have to share, folks we have a member named David Murry on April 18 and 19th will be running an open track for experienced drivers at Road Atlanta 14 hours of scheduled track time, NO RUN GROUPS or SESSIONS. As usual folks remember, I'm old and slow but you can get the correct and updated information at http://www.davidmurry.com
I got one more thing, my favorite subject kids. April 8 Sims Academy chapter of the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow called the Motor Masters are having a benefit car show at Holly Hill Mall. Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is a young person club. they have a completion where they tear down a 350 engine. I think the record is held by a chapter in Georgia 17 minutes. The students at Sims want to get a car fix it up and donate it to the battered women's shelter. They got all kinds of trophy's, food and it sounds like a great car show that will help everyone concerned. Even my buddies at the Dixie Cruisers are pitching in. I told you they were great folks. Have you heard about the Dixie cruisers new website, it is slick great job http://www.dixiecruisers.org Here is some trivia Dixie Cruisers I think are the oldest car club in Georgia. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.
We appreciate the support of our free website by our members, if you would like to have your event or car show featured on our website, we have a special members rate. Hit me up and I will email you the media kit.
We appreciate you the members with you there is no us. Until Next time May the sun shine and the trophies be many-lee

The Dixie Cruiser's have always been one of my favorite car clubs, they are straight up good folks. They have always actively supported community projects such as the Sims Academy chapter of the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow the Motor Masters, who by the way are having their own car show to raise needed funds, on April 8 at Holly Hill Mall . It is a great cause, supports a bunch of high school kids and tell me, Do you know anyone else who can tear down and put together a 350 engine in 17 minutes. Ok I am impressed. It's is going to be a great and amazing summer. May the sunshine and the trophies be many until next time-lee
From Lee's Corner Mar 20, 2017 Happy 70th Birthday Mike!!! Our founder, our friend and a great guy, Mike Thies. People may not know but, what we do at South East Wheels Events, to Mike is not a job, he is not in it to get rich. It is nice when the website pays for itself and he doesn’t have to rob the piggy bank to keep the doors open but, Mike has this free website calendar of automotive related events, because of his love for the car show.
Before I continue a word from our sponsor. Good friends of Mike, who have supported South East Wheels Events for many years. You know I must be talking about the folks at StreetSide Classics, http://www.streetsideclassics.com the Nation’s Top Consignment Dealer of classic and collectable cars. Sell that project car and get $$$ the same day! Call Richard 678-279-1609 Tell them Lee sent you and promised you the best deal in the house!!! and always folks consignment is free, call for details...
One thing that I want to share with you, is how many people Mike Thies has helped. We at South East Wheels Events, list an astronomical amount of car shows for free. Many of those car shows are from churches, car clubs and other organizations who are raising money for their cause. By providing a free listing to car show enthusiasts in the South East, it gets the word out to the people that matter. That person is you, the car owner.
Does it work? I was at a car show in Warner Robins, sponsored by the Freaks of Nature; a young man drove up in a white Mustang. As I was taking pictures I asked him if he was familiar with South East Wheels Events. He told me that as he was driving down the interstate, he checked the South East Wheels Events website and saw that the car show was right down the street, so he stopped, registered and hung out. We all made new friends that day. That my readers, is a true story.
Thank you Mike for everything you do, not just for the car owners who South East Wheels Events makes it easier to locate the best car shows, but also to all the children you have fed, the puppies you have saved and all the other charities that benefit from the car shows you support free of charge.
To my friend to my mentor, Happy Birthday and may the Lord Bless you with many more. Until next time may the sun shine and the trophies be many-lee

I found a nugget of gold up in the hills of Carolina!!! Tom Mack Classics https://tommackclassics.com/ ; 704-400-1127 April 6 2017, at "High Noon" is holding their annual Spring Thursday Auction and it promises to be very special. It will be held inside the Cabarrus Area and Event center in Concord NC. That is 12 miles North of the Speedway. For more information check out the website or give them a call. I did hear the consignment fee is only $199.00 and the 1 day sale will be limited to 150 cars. As I said for more information check out the website or give them a call
,My buddy Bruce told me about this auction so I checked it out...it looks like Mr. Mack has got quite a collection not only for the auction but in his inventory. The 57 BelAire station wagon, the 59 Cadillac Coupe De Ville catch your eye, then for the person who likes a little pep to their step the 1967 Corvette Convertible and the 1968 Camaro RS/SS and then you notice the 1963 Corvair Spyder convertible with no reserve...but it's Mr. Mack's inventory that surprises you...
Mr. Mack's antique inventory is very impressive and if you are looking for Ford Model A 1929-1931, talk to Mr. Mack. Also if you are looking for a project car, like my buddy Shane Gillespie of Gillespie's Hot Rods, talk to Mr. Mack about that 1940 Ford Deluxe, that he has parked, waiting on someone to give it a good home and some TLC.
Don't take my word for it folks, as you know I try to be straight up and post what I see and hear, so you can make your own opinion. Check out the website, give them a call, Mr. Mack might have just what you were looking for. Do me a favor folks, when you call or talk to the folks at Mr. Mack's tell him the next time I am up there, he can take me out for some of those sweet Carolina Baby Backs and maybe a shot of that Carolina Shine. May the sun shine and the trophies be many until next time-lee
Classic Car Auction...I have a good buddy Richard Stafford 470-313-5254 He is with Bidder One http://bidderoneclassics.com...and They will be holding the Classic car Auction at the Emerald City Cruise In on March 11, 2017. the auction opens 10:30 am. I go to car shows all the time and it blows my mind when I see some drop dead gorgeous machine sitting there with a piece of cardboard with a hand scrawled FOR SALE sign sitting in the window. I got to ask myself why? I know this member he was selling a Champaign VW, extremely rare at a car show, I told him about the auction, he took, set a reserve and got twice what he wanted, not a bad days work.I wanted to sell my house, I called someone, why should I take a chance on something like Craigslist? Same thing when I bought my new house, I called someone, my classic is a major investment. I also like to have the different selections at the same time and also when a car has no reserve, you just might get lucky. These cars at BidderOne are all the real deal, they have major selections and will take care of you and your car. These guys are the professionals, they have the office in Macon, right down the road and open to the public auctions every Tuesday Check out their website for more information. I also heard that they will be in Atlanta in April so watch your Lee's Corner for more information. Tell Richard that that you read Lee's Corner and I said he owes me a beer. I and my camera will be at the Emerald City auction so stop me and say Hi. It is always nice to meet people. I would not be here, this company would not be here, the website would not be here, with out you our members so, if we can be of service please drop by The Corner and let me know....May the sun shine and the trophies be many, until next time-lee
The Emerald Coast Cruzin March 8 - 11, http://www.emeraldcoastcruizin.com/springshow.html sounds like it will be a great event with something for everyone. Starting out with Harley Davidson of PCB There is swap meet and classic car auction and they have plenty of free parking and did I mention they will have a good brew for a hot time!!! Our fiends at Flip Flop Promotions and Bidder One invite you to attend , For more information hit the website and if you see my buddy Rakes Parrish, tell him Lee said he owes him a beer. Hope to see you there, as many of you know I am the man with the camera, make sure you let me know who you are. SHO SUM LOVE Warner Robins Hosted by Freaks of Nature Car Club.
When I was a kid, one of the things we did in my neighborhood was hang at the corner. The Corner was always a hub or activity, keeping up with the who's who, what's going on with various neighborhood news and opinion. Welcome to Lee's Corner where I will do my best to keep you, the members, informed and up to date on various events and happenings in the car show neighborhood .I got to give a shout out to this week's sponsor, my buddy Doc Sab and Cadillac World, Home of Mac Daddy Wire Wheels that are Hand Made using American Steel, TBird Chrysler and Packard models available...
It was worth the drive!!! I got to give a shout out to Jason and the rest of The Freaks of Nature for a wonderful event. many times I have sat with older gentlemen at a car show and the conversation is "What's going to happen to the sport when we are gone?" Well folks let me tell you, the sport is in good hands. It has changed a bit, there are still the antiques and classics but let's welcome a newcomer, the rat rod. many time complete with nitrous, these low riding pick up trucks are a wonderful marriage of art and power. I got to give a shout out to Jason and the rest of the Freaks of Nature "Good Job!!!' They are a good representation of our sport not only younger, under 40. Now I feel old! BUT it is a mixed group with the females being represented in all the top categories. I don't know about you but that makes me happy. They came through when the owner of the space shut down the music, they came through when it started to rain and 20 minutes later, the wonderful sun shine. Now I understand that the freaks of nature are putting together "SUMMER SHOWDOWN" July 1-2 in Byron GA. For more info check the SouthEast Wheels events date Jul1 & 2. Go ahead and put it on your phone calendar, I already did. As I said it's worth the drive... Until next time may the sun shine and the trophies be many....Lee
Great Excellent Video If you have not seen the video from Hot Rod Madness of the Ga Cool Cruisers at Dave and Busters, give yourself a few minutes and enjoy the show. Part One http://southeastwheelsevents.ning.com/video/georgia-cool-cruisers-d... and Part Two http://southeastwheelsevents.ning.com/video/cool-cruisers-dave-bust... Great spot on coverage of not only a wonderful car show and sponsors Year One and SouthEast Wheels Events, but great shot of our wonderful participants Ga Cool Cruisers and the Ga Street Rod Association members. I would like to send a shout out and a good job to the film's creator Mr. William Burns
I became a member of this site a couple of months ago and mainly use it to look for interesting motorcycle and car events here in the south. So I was actually surprised to receive an email from Lee last week inviting me to introduce myself here in his corner and tell all of you about myself, my blog and some of the things that I do.
Let’s start with my name and location; I am Floyd Finch & I am based out of Hartsville, S.C. I’ve been a dedicated gear head since I was six years old, and my dad sat me on the engine of his Chevy truck and handed me the wrenches while he talked me through a carburetor replacement. Since then I’ve been through all manner of project cars and motorcycles. Over the last couple of decades my interest has been almost solidly vintage Japanese motorcycles with the odd Brit bike or Harley passing through from time to time.
One of the things that I do is write a little blog called Motopsyco’s Asylum at http://www.motopsyco.com/ . My page is mainly aimed at the do it yourself motorcycle & atv owner, but has event reports, product reviews, & unusual feature bikes sprinkled throughout as well.
Although I do full restorations for myself and a select few friends I have recently purchased a vapor blasting machine and am offering vapor blasting services for motorcycle parts, car parts or industrial cleaning & deburring. No other process in the world can make old corroded aluminum look as good as vapor blasting. In addition to the vapor blasting service I offer ultrasonic cleaning & refurbishment of motorcycle carburetors as well.
Now if Lee doesn’t mind I’d like to put in a plug for the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club of North America. We are celebrating our 40th anniversary this year. As of this writing our website http://vjmc.org/ is down until February 28 2017 for a major overhaul. If you own or love the old Japanese bikes from any manufacturer you really should consider joining. Since I am a field representative in S.C. if you have any questions send me a message and I’ll try to answer any questions you may have about the group.
That’s enough about me, post a comment & show us your old motorcycles. I’ll be in the shop working on my next restoration.
Sims Academy of I&T high school automotive students have form a motor club called Motor Masters. We decide to be a non-profit community based club, with one purpose. To change our community one vehicle at a time, we made that our club motto. We host a motor show once a year (April 8, 2017) to raise money so we can buy a used car fix it up and donate it to the Peace Place, the local Women's Battered Settler.
I AM IMPRESSED and I don't impress easily. Went to the Thursday Norcross Cruise-In, (February 2, 2017) IT WAS INTENSE!!! First thing it is at night, second thing there was in the neighborhood of 500 cars and the last thing that impressed me was the age. Beside myself and my crew, I did not see (I think) anyone over 40 years old. There was great diversity, trucks, classic, foreign, hot rods and rat rods, light and sounds galore. If you could dream it, you could wish it, it was there. I got to give a shout out to the organizers, taking care of that many cars, that many kids, is no easy task. BTW these kids are some of the nicest, politest bunch I have ever had the pleasure of taking photos of. Either that or they just took pity on an old man. BUT the organizers did a great job crowd control, security and especially keeping the flow of cars coming in and going out moving. It's every Thursday Night in Norcross. I recommend going at least one time, to this Fountain of Youth and taking in the sights and sounds of our heirs of the car world, the younger generation. Simply Amazing, the only thing I can say....For photos, go to Albums and click on the Thursday Night Norcross February 2, 2017 Album Cover.
Thank's for the reply I will be checking soon....
The Georgia Cool Cruisers are picking up right were they left off last year. Rick and the gang are tireless workers putting on shows in the different communities of Atlanta and always for a great cause. The Gwinnett Varsity Sunday afternoon was no different. Find pictures under the varsity banner in our album section.
With appearances by the members of The Unstabled Mates Mustang Club and President LeBron Grove, a collection of Chevy Belaire that would make any senior citizen nostalgic and a couple of Plymouth Valiant that would make Al Bundy proud, it was a good collection and raising money for the Susan Komen Foundation made this show a "Best Of" for everyone. keep up the good work guys.
What a start to a New Year!!! First show of the year was a great surprise, hosted by the CSRA Road Angels and their president Bubba Holley at the Hooter's in Augusta on Washington Rd, I had to look this up, the Central Savannah River Area in Augusta. Find the pictures under the Hooters banner in our Albums section.
For a sunny weekend in the middle if January, it was a good all round turn out with a nice variety of classic, rat rods, antiques some nice Vets and even a Lambo. The sounds were provided by Norm who kept us entertained with Roy Orbinson and Elvis. I understand that the CSRA Road Angels raised over $10,000 last year for local charities and have a Fall show called the Pumpkin Run that I was told was a great show. I will put it on my calendar. In the past we have not been able to reach many of the car clubs outside Atlanta but my goal is in 2017 to go on the road with my camera and shake some hands. I got to thank Bubba and his wife genie who extended their friendship and the red carpet. I hope to make a return visit real soon.
