We tend to buy cars we had driven (or lusted for) during our youth. I have a good friend who is exactly 10 years older than I am, his favorite Chevy, a 1951, mine is a '62. When I was a kid my Dad had a 1927 Ford Model A, he drove one in college. A generation or two ago, the Brass Era cars were popular, but when's the last time you saw one?

I believe that the price of older collector cars is decreasing. The question is what to do about it. If the object of owning the cars is to provide for your retirement you should all probably sell the cars and put the money in a safer surer investment. I suspect that most of us would miss that fun and companionship If we left the car hobby. Therefore I for one will continue owning and driving collector cars. It is probably cheaper than having to spend your old age telling a shrink why you sold your cars and why you are now board and unhappy.
Scary thought Mike.
Scary thought Mike. My wife and I are classic car lovers. Our kids, not so much. They use their cars as transportation only. No interest in classic cars
